Foundations for Farming

Silverlands has a partnership with Foundations for Farming. Foundations for Farming is a non-profit organization that is based in Zimbabwe but is currently doing work in 8 countries across the African continent. The Foundation has helped to train farmers working some 350,000 Hectares across Africa.

Foundations for Farming trains the rural poor of Africa to realize the potential of the land that they farm through conservation farming techniques.

Conservation Farming

In addition to the farming techniques, the training addresses lifestyle and character issues. The latter training is critical to the success of the work that Foundations for Farming so that the farmers are able to handle their increasing wealth appropriately.

Helping in the community

Typically Foundations for Farming see a 3-4 fold increases in productivity after engaging a community and as much as 10-fold in many areas.
